Manna House Baltimore
Six Days a week, a meal at Manna House is a certain event, a reliable occurence, a sure thing, no matter the weather, or the fixin's on hand.
The Soup Plus staff must arrive in the early morning hours to be ready.
The agency is so reliable that all the homeless in Baltimore City and most of the needy know that Manna House will open it's doors at 8:30AM. A hot meal will be ready for all comers, and the line forms early in the morning.
Today, many congregations seek additional ways to serve in Baltimore City, opportunities that deepen understanding of the lives of others and build commitment by fulfilling the commandment to love and serve one another. Most adults and youth welcome the chance to work together to meet well-defined goals that will benefit others.
Lovely Lane has facilities that might work equally well for adult and youth groups. With advance reservations, the groups may be paired with volunteers to serve the clients at Manna House on Saturdays.
