Mission Retreat Planning
Lovely Lane has facilities that can be made available for a weekend retreat for confirmands, mission groups, and other youth or adult groups. Many congregations seek additional ways to serve in Baltimore City, opportunities that deepen understanding of the lives of others and build commitment by fulfilling the commandment to love and serve one another. With advance reservations, groups may be paired with volunteers to serve the clients at Manna House (our partner in ministry) on Saturday mornings, or they can plan other outreach activities during their stay at Lovely Lane.
Lovely Lane is accessible, and we can provide: locker/shower rooms; a conference room and alternate meeting spaces; a Sunday school room; a fellowship hall with stage and adjacent kitchen (refrigeration, microwave, stove/oven, and coffee service items); and sanctuary and chapel spaces appropriate for lectures, concerts, and devotionals. We can simply provide sleeping space for groups attending area conferences and concerts, or we can assist with planning a tour and provide space for your devotional activities here at Lovely Lane. We even have an indoor basketball court and lobby, with a nearby nursery and playroom!
Our congregation feels privileged to host numerous groups throughout the year. In the past, groups have given love offerings to help offset the cost of utilities and custodial needs during their stay. Please consider planning a confirmation class or youth/adult mission trip to Lovely Lane, the Mother Church of American Methodism.
